Midsummer Celebration

Date: July 30, 2005 Time: Day Event - 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Location: Steele's Creek Park AKA Stacy Grayson Memorial Park in Bristol, TN

Prices: The entrance-fee is free! There is a $1 parking fee per vehicle that is paid when you enter the park. Feast will be a minimal charge of $3 and children under 12 eat for free.

We welcome one and all to come join us for a day celebration of summer and Shire here that the very fine Steele's Creek Park aka Stacy Grayson Memorial Park in Bristol , TN. We have a day of classes, A&S and fighting for young and old alike!

Park Rules:

1. Dry site. No alcohol at all.
2. Parking fee: $1.00 parking fee per car
3. Leave the park in the original condition.

Fighting: The fighting will be a double elimination bear pit style tourney. The fighters will draw lots to see which 2 combatants take the pit first. This will be fought make it take it style. As long as you win you hold the ring. Once you have lost 2 times, you are eliminated. The last man standing wins! All weapons styles will be allowed!

Classes: Some of our Shire folk wish to share some of their skills and trades with the populace in these classes: Classes on Knitting/Sprang, Archery, and Heraldry are just some of the offerings so far. More to be announced soon!

If you would like to teach a class, please contact both Lord Artos and Maras Qaylah.

• Artos needs to know so he can make the schedule.
• Qaylah needs to know so that she can seek certification from the Royal University of Meridies.

Arts and Science Competition: This is an open competition for any and all forms of Arts and Sciences. The judging will be populace choice! Please bring all of your latest projects! Please limit 3 entries per person only please. Bring something with documentation to enter.

Gaming Competition: As one of the autocrat's favorite pastimes is Chess and other games, he is planning a small gaming tourney throughout the day. Chess, 9-mans Morris, and other gaming will be in the mix.

Feast and Bake-off:

• Bake-off: That is right! We are going to have a Bread Baking contest! Entries will be classified as Soda Breads or Yeast Breads. The only entry for the contest is that each person needs to bring a minimum of 3 loaves of bread. One will be for sampling of the judges and the others will be for the feast that evening! Please bring a detailed list of the ingredients for dietary and allergy reasons.
• Feast: We are planning on a simple feast of soups and the delicious breads from the earlier bake-off. Please come and join us for this simple yet hearty meal before you journey home. There is a minimal charge of $3.00 for adults and children 12 and under eat for free. Lemonade and Tea will be available. This is a totally dry site! No Alcohol please!

• Take Interstate 81 Exit 74- A . You will pass by Wellmont (Hospital)
• Continue on toward Bristol at the second traffic light make a right.
• You will be on Hwy. 126. Travel for 1 mile. You will see the sign for Steele Creek Park.
• Make a left on Steele Creek Park Drive .
• Then you will travel for 0.3 miles and make a right across a bridge onto Steele Creek Park Road .
  The park gate will be on your left 0.3 miles passed the bridge.
